Puccini "REMOTE "
version 5.0

Unbelivable!
As I've told in the Puccini
Remote page,
the design is (in my opinion) full of errors; in details:
--- too much power is dissipated on Q113 & Q114 (Q213 & Q214
for the right channel);
--- an FET differential front-end is used else where, causing low GBW
and severe DC offset;
--- a wrong (too high) compensating capacitor is used in the feedback
path;
--- wrong (too low) driving capacitors are used (1uF instead of 10uF) !
So what are the
news ?
Starting from V 5.0 the diagram is changed; in details:
Q113
& Q114 (Q213 & Q214 for the right channel) are no more TO92
case; now they are TO72 metallic case, with a black heath-sink; near
them, on the PCB, there are some holes helping the air to flow;
--- no more FET differential front-end is used! Now there is a BIPOLAR
differential, made with a couple of BC182B transistors;
--- a right (C155, 470pF) compensating capacitor is used in the
feedback path;

This is
the internal
view of the last (As Far As I Know!) Puccini Remote (v 5.0); from the
serial number of the studied unit, it seems that this version is up
since late 2002.
It's
clear that "someone" has read my unofficial web pages :-)
That's all, folks.
